Lectures

Trunk Show: Color Inside the Lines

Join me for a lively trunk show and presentation where I share the stories behind my quilts, creative process, and artistic journey. I’ll bring 10–12 quilts for in-person viewing, plus plenty of time for Q&A and up-close looks at the details that make each piece unique.

Quilting with Intention: Using Line, Grid, and Section to Elevate Modern Design

Join me as I share my approach to machine quilting that earned the award for “Best Machine Quilting” at QuiltCon 2026. In this lecture, I’ll show how I use straight-line quilting, grid-based designs, and sectional motifs to bring structure, balance, and movement to my work. Through real quilt examples, I’ll walk you through my thought process—from first look at the quilt top to final quilting decisions—highlighting ways to make quilting enhance the design rather than compete with it. Perfect for longarm quilters, this talk is full of practical ideas, approachable strategies, and inspiration you can apply to your own quilting right away.

DIY Quilt Photography

No fancy camera? No problem! Learn how to photograph your quilts beautifully using just your cell phone and everyday household items. I share lighting tips, simple flat-lay setups, examples, and editing tricks that make your quilts look their best whether you’re posting on Instagram, submitting to shows, or documenting your work. Discover how to get professional-looking results with what you already have!

A Modern Quilter's Toolbox

I take you on a curated tour of the tools, supplies, and digital helpers that streamline my modern quilting process and support creative resilience. From design apps and color resources to specialty templates (yes, curves!) and efficient construction methods, I share my favorite game-changing tools and strategies that support clean, graphic, modern work. Perfect for quilters looking to level up their process or try something new.

The Power of Simple Shapes

Modern quilting thrives on clarity, contrast, and strong geometry—and simple shapes are its secret weapon. In this lecture, I show how circles, curves, arcs, and other basic forms can be transformed into bold, contemporary compositions. We’ll explore how to leverage simple elements, thoughtful color placement, and key design principles to create extraordinary visual impact. I’ll share examples from my own quilts to break down my thought process, design strategy, and the decisions that bring minimal shapes to life.
